The invention relates to a functional ceramic for treating water special for cosmetics. The functional ceramic is characterized by comprising the following raw materials by weight percent: 43-55% of tourmaline, 35-45% of boric acid, 5-7% of clay and 5% of iron tailings. A preparation method for the functional ceramic comprises the following steps: 1) refining the raw materials, including tourmaline and iron tailings, wherein the average grain size after refining is not more than 8mu m; 2) weighting the refined tourmaline and iron tailings, boric acid and clay by weight percent, and then putting them into a mixing machine for uniformly mixing, adopting a hydraulic machine or a pelletizer for forming the uniformly mixed raw materials, thereby acquiring a ceramic body; and 3) putting a prepared sample sheet into a high temperature furnace for sintering, controlling the temperature rise rate at 9-11 DEG C / min, sintering to 850 DEG C, keeping the temperature for 1-2h and then cooling at room temperature, thereby acquiring the functional ceramic. On the basis of purifying water, the functional ceramic can release anion, sterilize, restrain bacteria and refine water molecules. The refined water molecules can be more easily absorbed and utilized by a human body.
