The vehicle comprises the engine unit, a speed changer unit, a first electric generator, an output part, a power switching device, a second electric generator and a power battery, wherein the speed changer unit is selectively connected with the engine unit in a power coupling manner, the first electric generator is connected with the speed changer unit in a power coupling manner, the second electric generator is used for driving front wheels and/or rear wheels, and the power battery is respectively connected with the first electric generator and the second electric generator. The method comprises the following steps: acquiring a working mode and working parameters of the vehicle; controlling the engine unit to be started or powered off according to the working parameters and the working mode. According to the method, the engine unit is controlled to be started or powered off according to the working parameters and the working mode, so that the consumption of energy is reduced, the application frequency of a starting motor is reduced, the service life of the starting motor is prolonged, and the user experience is improved.
