The invention relates to the field of agricultural technology and particularly relates to a grafting method of mature theobroma cacao. The method comprises the following steps: cutting a vertical long notch just reaching the xylem in depth in the stock trunk, cutting off the middle stock pieces, peeling off the phloem of the stock pieces at the two ends of the notch, and connecting one ends of the stock pieces at the two ends of the notch with the stock; longitudinally cutting off the phloem from one side of the pre-grafted scion without axillary bud, and exposing the longitudinal cutting surface to obtain a scion; embedding the scion into the notch while enabling the longitudinal cutting surface to match the cambium of the stock; covering the two ends of the scion with the stock pieces at the two ends of the notch; fixing the stock pieces and the scion and wrapping with a plastic film; after the scion survives, removing the plastic film; after the scion and the stock xylem heal, removing the materials for fixing; and when the new branch of the scion grows to 80-100cm long, sawing off the mature stock at a position 40-60cm above the grafting position. In the invention, the exposure surface of the scion wound is reduced, the scion-stock combination is tight, and the grafting survival rate is remarkably increased.

Potting method for cocoa tree

The invention relates to the technical field of grafting, in particular to a potting method for a cocoa tree. The potting method comprises the steps of rootstock cultivation, grafting breeding, plant potting and management and shaping and pruning; the rootstock cultivation comprises the step of planting a rootstock seedling in a seedling raising bag; the grafting breeding comprises the following steps: collecting annual semi-lignified fan-shaped branches to make scions, and grafting the scions on rootstock by adopting a top grafting method; wherein the height of the rootstock is 30-40 cm; and the plant potting and management comprises the steps as follows: planting the cocoa plant subjected to grafting breeding in a pot filled with nutrient soil, and pouring root fixing water; and performing water and fertilizer management and pest control after field planting. According to the method, the grafting height is increased from 10-20 cm to about 30-40 cm, the grafted plant with a high proportion can bear cocoa fruits on an original rootstock, phenotypes such as fruit shapes and fruit colors are obviously different from those of cocoa fruits borne on the scions, two kinds of fruits with different shapes or colors can be borne on one trunk, and the ornamental value of the potted cocoa tree is greatly improved.
