The invention discloses a method for carrying out chemical bud inhibition on tobaccos through bud suppression swabs. The method comprises the following steps: pesticide preparation: fully and uniformly mixing butralin emulsifiable concentrate, water and ethanol; or fully and uniformly mixing flumetidine emulsifiable concentrate, water and ethanol; preparing wooden toothpicks, soaking the wooden toothpicks which are dried by subsequent use in prepared pesticide, drying the wooden toothpicks in the shade after the toothpicks fully absorb the pesticide, and properly storing the toothpicks; enabling a vertex to be slightly higher than a top leaf; after tobacco plants are topped, successively germinating axillary buds from top to bottom and grow into tobacco branches, so that buds are timely smeared after topping, unnecessary nutrient consumption is reduced, and normal leaf growth is promoted; and after the buds are smeared, inserting the prepared bud suppression swabs into axillary positions of tobacco plant leaves in time, and inserting the bud suppression swabs according to the sequence from top to bottom, wherein the insertion depth is more than half of the length of the bud suppression swabs. The method disclosed by the invention has the beneficial effects that the regional precise pesticide application of tobacco chemical bud inhibition is realized, the method is simple to operate and practical, the labor intensity of the bud inhibition link of a tobacco grower after the topping of the tobacco is reduced, and the personnel labor is also reduced.
