Capped amine hardeners for epoxy resins, which are reaction products of amines A having at least two primary amino groups, cyclic alkylene carbonates B, aliphatic carbonyl compounds C and compounds D having at least two groups which react with hydroxyl groups, such that in the first step, 0.1 to 1 mol of the primary amino groups for each 1 mol of the amine A are converted to hydroxyalkylurethane groups by reaction with the cyclic alkylene carbonate B, and the remaining primary amino groups are converted by reaction with the aliphatic carbonyl compound C in a second step to give ketimine or aldimine groups, and finally in the third step at least two of the molecules formed from A, B, and C are linked through reaction of the hydroxyl groups of the hydroxyalkylurethane groups with compound D. These capped amine hardeners are suitable for formulating water-dilutable monocomponent epoxy resin systems. The amines are released by addition of water, and are available for the curing reaction with the epoxy groups. Coatings formulated on the basis of this system are characterized by a very low content of auxiliary solvent. The cured coating films show outstanding leveling and film properties.

The intermetallic compound A has a compound diameter of 0.3 μm to 2 μm, the intermetallic compound B has a compound diameter of 0.05 μm to less than 0.3 μm, and the intermetallic compound C has a compound diameter of more than 0.001 μm to less than 0.05 μm.

Naphthenic acid corrosion inhibition using new synergetic combination of phosphorus compounds

The present invention relates to the field of processing hydrocarbons which causes corrosion in the metal surfaces of processing units. The invention addresses the technical problem of high temperature naphthenic acid corrosion and sulphur corrosion and provides a solution to inhibit these types of corrosion. The three combination compositions are formed by three mixtures separately, with one mixture obtained by mixing compound A, which is obtained by reacting high reactive polyisobutylene (HRPIB) with phosphorous pentasulphide in presence of catalytic amount of sulphur with compound B such as trialkyl phosphate and second mixture obtained by mixing compound A with compound C such as phosphite like di-isodecyl phenyl phosphite, and third mixture obtained by mixing compound A with compound D such as a phosphonate, wherein each of these three mixtures independently provide high corrosion inhibition efficiency in case of high temperature naphthenic acid corrosion inhibition and sulphur corrosion inhibition. The invention is useful in all hydrocarbon processing units, such as, refineries, distillation columns and other petrochemical industries.

When the composition is used for RTM forming processing, curing speed is high, the forming period is short, and heat resistance is improved.
