This invention belongs to the field of
flame retardant technology, specifically relating to a surface-modified
bromide flame retardant and its preparation method. Using
tetrabromobisphenol A glycidyl ether and 2,7-dihydroxynaphthalene as raw materials, a high molecular weight brominated
epoxy resin
flame retardant is prepared by reaction under the action of benzyltriphenylphosphine
bromide catalyst. Subsequently, the high molecular weight brominated
epoxy resin flame retardant is modified and grafted with a cyclotriphosphazene modifier to obtain a surface-modified high molecular weight brominated
epoxy resin flame retardant. This invention uses
tetrabromobisphenol A glycidyl ether and 2,7-dihydroxynaphthalene to synthesize a high molecular weight brominated epoxy resin flame retardant. The introduced
naphthalene group can greatly improve the
thermal stability of the flame retardant. Simultaneously, the surface
grafting modification of the high molecular weight brominated epoxy resin flame retardant with a cyclotriphosphazene modifier introduces cyclotriphosphazene, which has a high
char-forming ability. The
char layer generated during the flame-retardant process can improve the
smoke problem of the brominated epoxy resin flame retardant.
