39 results about "Microbial colonization" patented technology

Bacterial colonization is the presence of pathogenic bacteria on a body surface (like on the skin, mouth, intestines or airway) without causing clinical evidence of infection in the person. Colonization of bacteria develops when a pathogen grows on a host's tissues that would normally not allow such growth.

Preparation method and application of graphene/polypyrrole composite material with three-dimensional multi-stage pores

The invention relates to a preparation method and application of a graphene composite material, in particular to a preparation method and application of a graphene/polypyrrole composite material withthree-dimensional multi-stage pores. The invention aims at solving the technical problems that the existing bioelectrochemical system is low in biomass concentration, poor in electron transfer and weak in microbial affinity. The preparation method comprises the steps of firstly, preparing a graphene oxide colloidal suspension liquid; secondly, carrying out cyclic voltammetry deposition. The graphene/polypyrrole composite material with the three-dimensional multi-stage pores is applied to a bioelectrochemical system as a biological electrode. The graphene/polypyrrole composite material, prepared by the method, with the three-dimensional multi-stage pores is provided with an open porous three-dimensional interconnected conductive support, and is higher in surface roughness, thus being beneficial to microbial colonization and transfer of extracellular electron to the electrode. The graphene/polypyrrole composite material with the three-dimensional multi-stage pores has a sandwich structure in which a graphene layer is protected by a polypyrrole layer, so that the colonization of microorganisms is facilitated.

Oral killed vaccines and method for providing same

There is described a method for selecting microbial isolates for use in oral killed vaccines against abnormal microbial colonization of mucosal surfaces by the microbes. The method comprises evaluating capacity of a plurality of different isolates of a microbe to activate antigen responsive cells to provide activation data for each microbial isolate, and the effectiveness of the isolates in reducing infection of a mucosal surface by the microbe to provide clearance data for each microbial isolate. An isolate, the activation data and clearance data for which correlate and is optimal for generating mucosal immunity against the microbe compared to the, or each, other of the isolates, or an isolate the activation data for which is optimal and a further isolate the clearance data for which is optimal, compared to the, or each, other of the isolates, respectively, is then selected for use in the vaccine. There is also described a method for providing an oral killed vaccine against abnormal microbial colonization of a mucosal surface, comprising evaluating the capacity of a plurality of different isolates of a microbe to induce expression of IL-10 and IL-12 in antigen responsive cells. At least one isolate is selected that induces optimal expression of IL-12 relative to IL-10 compared to the, or each, other of the isolates, respectively, for use in the vaccine.

Preparation method of gel dressing containing silk fibroin

The invention discloses a preparation method of a gel dressing containing silk fibroin. The gel dressing is prepared from the following components in parts by weight: 2-10 parts of silk fibroin, 3-6 parts of earthworm protein, 2-4 parts of phycocyanin, 6-10 parts of N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, 1-4 parts of carbomer, 3-6 parts of hydroxyethyl cellulose, 3-7 parts of fatty acid, 2-5 parts of gelatin, 1-3 parts of sodium chloride, 2-5 parts of propylene glycol, 2-6 parts of hyaluronic acid, 1-6 parts of sodium benzoate, 2-8 parts of Tween-80, 1-3 parts of radix arnebiae seu lithospermi, 4-6 parts of herba menthae and 20-40 parts of purified water. By matching the silk fibroin with the earthworm protein, the phycocyanin, the N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, the carbomer and the hydroxyethyl cellulose, the effects of nutrient repair, tissue regeneration and biocompatibility can be fully exerted, so that the product provides a good microenvironment on the premise of inhibiting germs and promoting tissue repair and regeneration, a protective film is formed, pathogenic microorganisms are prevented from colonization, and the effects of nutrient repair of skin tissues, promotion of tissue growth, protection of wound surface microenvironment, environment cleaning, water locking, moisturizing and the like are achieved.

Homogeneous microorganism extract using useful and functional microorganisms and method for producing same

The present invention pertains to a homogeneous microorganism extract using useful and functional microorganisms and a method for producing the same, and particularly to: a homogeneous microorganism extract which is obtained by homogenizing and extracting a complex enzyme, various inducing substances and the like by using useful microorganisms and functional microorganisms that are isolated from soil for the purpose of soil improvement, crop growth and pest control; and a method for producing said homogeneous microorganism extract. The method is technically characterized by the following: the homogeneous microorganism extract using useful and functional microorganisms and the method for producing the same are characterized in that: microorganisms are homogenized with a complex enzyme (protein, sugars, fat, fiber, synthetic enzymes for acids and alkalis, and decomposition enzymes etc.), primary metabolites, secondary metabolites, antibiotic substances, various active materials, and the like, which are produced through combination culture in which cultured useful microorganisms and functional microorganisms are made and cultured under a symbiotic relationship such that the useful microorganisms and functional microorganisms serve as a substrate and a raw material; then microorganism inducing substances, crop growth inducing substances, and pest resistance inducing substances are extracted from microorganism cells; and the resultant extract is sterilized and concentrated. Therefore, since said extract includes the complex enzyme, various inducing substances, and the like, the functions of soil improvement, crop growth and pest control are achieved. Accordingly, the present invention is advantageous in cost saving and income increase; advantageous in that the types and number of useful microorganisms can be increased by inducing sunflower bacteria that has been already settled, instead of settling the microorganisms on soil and crops as in conventional microorganism formulations; and advantageous in that the extract directly affects crops so that desired effects are relatively quickly expressed and microbial flora is improved.

An in vitro intestinal model based on primary intestinal cells and its construction method and application

The invention discloses an in vitro intestinal model based on primary intestinal cells and its construction method and application. The electrospun nanofiber membrane is used as the carrier material of intestinal cells, and isolated intestinal cells are seeded on the surface of the carrier material. , cultivated until a complete intestinal cell layer is formed and the small intestinal villi are differentiated, and an in vitro intestinal model with complete biological activity and physiological functions is obtained. Based on the three-dimensional structure similar to the natural extracellular matrix of the electrospun nanofiber membrane, the present invention realizes the biomimetic simulation of the natural extracellular matrix structure, and greatly improves the adhesion and growth performance of the primary intestinal cells on the surface of the carrier material. The constructed model has the ability to imitate the real intestinal tract, and can be widely used in the absorption and transport analysis of nutrients and drug components, quickly and accurately evaluate the absorption capacity and bioavailability of nutrients and drugs, and can also be used to evaluate intestinal Microbial colonization or interaction with tracts can be used for tissue engineering.
