200 results about "Red algae" patented technology

Red algae, or Rhodophyta (/roʊˈdɒfɪtə/ roh-DOF-it-ə, /ˌroʊdəˈfaɪtə/ ROH-də-FY-tə; from Ancient Greek ῥόδον (rhodon), meaning 'rose', and φυτόν (phyton), meaning 'plant'), are one of the oldest groups of eukaryotic algae. The Rhodophyta also comprises one of the largest phyla of algae, containing over 7,000 currently recognized species with taxonomic revisions ongoing. The majority of species (6,793) are found in the Florideophyceae (class), and mostly consist of multicellular, marine algae, including many notable seaweeds. Approximately 5% of the red algae occur in freshwater environments with greater concentrations found in warmer areas. Except for two coastal cave dwelling species in the asexual class Cyanidiophyceae, that diverged from other red algae about 1.3 billion years ago, there are no terrestrial species, which may be due to an evolutionary bottleneck where the last common ancestor lost about 25% of its core genes and much of its evolutionary plasticity.

Method for preparing high purity phycobiliprotein with primary column chromatography

The invention relates to a method for preparing high purity phycoerythrin, phycocyanin and allophycocyanin from the algae, belonging to the bioengineering extraction separation technology. The method is as follows: red algae or cyanobacteria is adopted as a raw material, and phosphate buffer is used as an extractant; after algae cells are broken, the raw material of the red algae or the cyanobacteria is salt dissolved, salted out and dialyzed in grade by ammonium sulfate, and crude extract of phycobiliprotein is obtained; the crude extract is in chromatography by a hydroxyapatite column for one time, is gradient eluted by the phosphate buffer, and is frozen and dried, and high purity phycoerythrin, phycocyanin and allophycocyanin are obtained. The purity of the crude extract of the phycobiliprotein prepared by the effective method in the earlier stage reaches the standard of pharmaceutical grade (A620/A 280 is more than 2.0), thereby simplifying the follow-up purifying procedures, so the high purity phycoerythrin, phycocyanin and allophycocyanin can be respectively obtained by only one time column chromatography. When the method is used to extract high purity phycobiliprotein from the fresh algae and the dry algae, the process is simple, the production cost is low, and the yield of the products is high. Thus, the method is suitable for mass production.

Method for constructing artificial algal crusts by utilizing mixed algae

The invention discloses a method for constructing artificial algal crusts by utilizing mixed algae. The method comprises the following steps of: selecting sufficiently developed algal crusts on the desert, collecting the algal crusts, and grinding the algal crusts after air-drying the algal crusts; sieving bare sand with a 0.2mm sieve, then adding 1 liter of BG11 liquid culture medium to 100g of bare sand, and collecting the algae together with the grains of sand fixed on the algae three weeks later, wherein the inoculum size is 50g dry soil per liter of culture medium, the culture temperature is the room temperature, the illumination intensity is 4000lux, and in the cultured mixed algae, the dominant species are filamentous algae which are mainly microcoleus, lyngbya and phormidium and account for 80% of the total biomass, and species such as oscillatoria, chlorococcum humicola, chlorella, chlamydomonas, Navicula, hantzschia and the like account for 20% of the total biomass; grindingthe collected algae into alga powder after air-drying the collected algae, and putting the alga powder in a refrigerator at minus 20 DEG C; and carrying out inoculation on the bare sand when the soiltemperature is 20 DEG C, wherein the inoculum size is 80g.m<-2>, and the moisture applied daily is 3L.m<-2>. The method successfully avoids the problems of purification and separation of the algae, and has wide applicability.

Method for preparing UV screening nontoxic extract from red algae, and nontoxic sunscreen using same

The present invention provides a method for preparing a UV screening nontoxic extract, comprising the following steps: (a) preparing one or more kinds of red algae selected from Porphyra tenera or Chondrus ocellatus; (b) adding a solvent mixture comprising a C1-C5 alcohol and water in a ratio of 1:9 to 9:1 by volume to the prepared red algae and maintaining the temperature to be 30-60 DEG C so as to extract an active ingredient; and (c) filtering the solvent mixture containing the active ingredient and the remaining red algae solid so as to separate the same into a supernatant and the remaining red algae solid. The method for preparing a UV screening nontoxic extract according to the present invention uses Porphyra tenera or Chondrus ocellatus as an extraction material, and thus the yield of the UV screening extract containing mycosporine-like amino acids (MAA) is relatively remarkably high compared with that of an extract from other green algae, brown algae and red algae. In addition, the UV screening extract extracted from Porphyra tenera or Chondrus ocellatus has very low phototoxiciy and cytotoxicity, and thus can be used as a main ingredient of a sunscreen which does not give a heavy feeling or the feeling of irritation due to the residue on the skin and is simultaneously free from side effects such as the skin stimulus or allergic reaction such as irritant dermatitis, contact dermatitis, photoallergic or phototoxic dermatitis and the like, and toxicity.
