The invention relates to stable oleaginous cosmetic or therapeutic foam compositions containing certain active agents, having unique therapeutic properties and methods of treatment using such compositions. The foamable composition includes at least one solvent selected from a hydrophobic solvent, a silicone oil, an emollient, a co-solvent, and mixtures thereof, wherein the solvent is present at a concentration of about 70% to about 96.5% by weight of the total composition, at least a non-ionic surface-active agent at a concentration of about 0.1% to less than about 10% by weight of the total composition; at least one gelling agent at a concentration of about 0.1% to about 5% by weight of the total composition; a therapeutically effective amount of at least one active agent; and at least one liquefied or compressed gas propellant, at a concentration of about 3% to about 25% by weight of the total composition.

The present invention relates to a foamable therapeutic composition comprising: (a) a therapeutically effective concentration of at least one active agent selected from the group consisting of a channel agent, a cholinergic agent, and a nitric oxide donor; and (b) a foamable carrier comprising:

• • i. about 50% to about 98% of a solvent selected from the group consisting of water; a hydrophilic solvent; a hydrophobic solvent; a potent solvent; a polar solvent, a silicone, an emollient, and mixtures thereof;
  • ii. 0% to about 48% of a secondary solvent selected from the group consisting of water; a hydrophilic solvent; a hydrophobic solvent; a potent solvent; a polar solvent, a silicone, an emollient, a co-solvent, a penetration enhancer and mixtures thereof;
  • iii. a surface-active agent;
  • iv. about 0% to about 5% by weight of at least one polymeric agent; and
  • v. a liquefied or compressed gas propellant at a concentration of about 3% to about 25% by weight of the total composition;
  • wherein the composition is housed in a container and is substantially flowable, and
  • which upon release expands to form a breakable foam; and
  • wherein the foamable carrier is selected to generate a foam of good to excellent quality.

The invention further provides a method of treating, alleviating or preventing a disorder of mammalian subject, comprising administering such a composition to an afflicted target site.

A stable topical alcohol-free aerosol foam containing one or more keratolytic agents is provided. The foam-forming formulation is an emulsion which contains an HFA propellant and one or more keratolytic agents. The emulsion has an oil phase and an aqueous, i.e. water-containing, phase. The active agent(s) may be present in either phase of the emulsion or dispersed in the emulsion. The oil phase may consist at least in part of the HFA propellant. Either or both of the oil phase and the aqueous phase may contain one or more surfactants, emulsifiers, emulsion stabilizers, buffers, and/or other excipients. The foam is stable on the skin, for example, for at least 5 minutes at body temperature, preferably at least 20 minutes at body temperature, and disappears into the skin upon rubbing or after prolonged standing. In one embodiment, the formulation contains an HFA propellant which does not contain additional co-solvents or co-propellants. The formulations demonstrate reduced intensity of the odor and/or color associated with the keratolytic agent(s) as compared to conventional formulations containing keratolytic agents.

The invention provides aqueous alkaline compositions useful in the microelectronics industry for stripping or cleaning semiconductor wafer substrates by removing photoresist residues and other unwanted contaminants. A composition and therapeutic kit provide a therapeutic azole with increased solubility. The kit includes an aerosol packaging assembly containing a container accommodating a pressurized product and an outlet capable of releasing the pressurized product as a foam. This invention discloses new krill oil compositions characterized by having high amounts of phospholipids, astaxanthin esters and/or omega-3 contents. The krill oils are obtained from krill meal using supercritical fluid extraction in a two stage process. Stage 1 removes the neutral lipid by extracting with neat supercritical CO₂ or CO₂ plus approximately 5% of a co-solvent. Stage 2 extracts the actual krill oils by using supercritical CO₂ in combination with approximately 20% ethanol. The krill oil materials obtained are compared with commercially available krill oil and found to be more bioeffective in a number of areas such as anti-inflammation, anti-oxidant effects, improving insulin resistances and improving blood lipid profile.

A method of enhancing removal of photoresist and/or resist residue from a substrate includes exposing the substrate to an environmentally friendly, non-hazardous co-solvent mixture comprising a carbonate, an oxidizer and an accelerator. The stripping process may be performed under ambient conditions, or in the presence of a supercritical fluid such as supercritical carbon dioxide with the supercritical cleaning step itself being a desirable "green" process. In one embodiment, the co-solvent mixture includes propylene carbonate, benzyl alcohol, hydrogen peroxide and an accelerator such as formic acid. If desired, supercritical carbon dioxide in combination with a second co-solvent mixture may be subsequently applied to the substrate to rinse and dry the substrate. In one embodiment, the second co-solvent mixture includes a lower alkyl alcohol such as isopropyl alcohol.

A well treatment microemulsion for use in a subterranean formation is disclosed, the microemulsion comprises a solvent blend comprising a solvent and a co-solvent; a surfactant blend comprising a surfactant, wherein the surfactant blend is able to give formation intermediate wettability properties; an alcohol; and a carrier fluid; wherein the alcohol, the solvent and surfactant blends are combined with the carrier fluid to produce the well treatment microemulsion. By intermediate wettability it is meant that the water has an advancing contact angle on the surface between 62 and 133 degrees. The associate method of treating a subterranean formation of a well with the microemulsion and the associate method of modifying the wettability of the formation with the microemulsion are also disclosed.

The present invention is drawn toward an ink-jet ink, comprising an aqueous liquid vehicle having acid-functionalized polymer colloid particulates and polymer-attached pigment colorants dispersed in the liquid vehicle. The liquid vehicle can include at least one volatile co-solvent, each volatile co-solvent present having a boiling point at or below about 285° C. A method of removing photoresist and/or resist residue from a substrate includes exposing the substrate to a supercritical fluid in combination with a co-solvent mixture comprising an organic solvent and an oxidizer. In one embodiment, the supercritical fluid is supercritical carbon dioxide and the co-solvent mixture includes 1,2-Butylene Carbonate, Dimethyl Sulfoxide and hydrogen peroxide. An oxidizing aqueous cleaning composition and process for cleaning post-plasma etch residue and/or hardmask material from a microelectronic device having said residue thereon. The composition may further comprise an alcohol co-solvent, a thickening agent, a sweetener, an antitussive, an anticholinergic, a decongestant, an antihistamine, an astringent, an anti-inflammatory steroid composition, a vitamin, a respiratory stimulant, a mucolytic agent, a bronchodilator, a beta-antagonist, an antidiarrheal agent, or combinations thereof.
