The invention relates to a catalytic synthesis method of N, N-
dimethylethanolamine. The method comprises the following steps: preparing reaction raw materials
ethanolamine,
methanol and a
ruthenium / carbon catalyst in proportion; the method comprises the following steps: adding raw materials
ethanolamine,
methanol and a
ruthenium / carbon catalyst into a high-pressure reaction kettle; replacing air in the reaction kettle with
nitrogen for three times, starting stirring, mixing and heating reactants, and carrying out heat preservation reaction; after the reaction is finished, cooling the reaction kettle, and exhausting; opening the reaction kettle, filtering the reaction mixture, and recovering the
solid catalyst; and distilling the filtrate at normal pressure to recover excessive
methanol, then carrying out reduced pressure
distillation, and collecting corresponding fractions to obtain N, N-
dimethylethanolamine. The method has the advantages that the N, N-
dimethylethanolamine is prepared through the reaction of
ethanolamine and methanol under the catalytic action of the
ruthenium / carbon catalyst, the catalytic reaction activity is high, the selectivity is good, the reaction condition is mild, the yield is high, the catalyst can be recycled and reused, the method is
environmentally friendly, and the production cost is reduced.
