These and other objects of this invention are achieved by providing a novel method and compositions for the clinical treatment of chronic inflammatory diseases. This invention involves use of systemically administered compositions which include primary amine derivatives of benzoic acid as carbonyl trapping agents. These primary therapeutic agents act by chemically binding to and sequestering the aldehyde and/or ketone products of lipid peroxidation. Increased levels of lipid peroxidation have been repeatedly demonstrated as a part of the non-enzymatic "inflammatory cascade" process which underlies the secondary etiology of chronic inflammatory diseases. p-Aminobenzoic acid (or PABA) is an example of the primary therapeutic agent of the present invention. PABA has a small molecular weight, is water soluble, has a primary amine group that reacts with carbonyl-containing metabolites under physiological conditions and is tolerated by the body in relatively high dosages and for extended periods. The carbonyl sequestering agents are used in combination with at least one co-agent so as to produce an additional beneficial physiological effect of an anti-inflammatory nature. Such compositions are administered systemically entirely via the oral route. Co-agents of the present invention include anti-oxidants and free radical trapping compounds (e.g., alpha-tocopherol), compounds having indirect anti-oxidant activity (e.g., selenium), vitamins (e.g., pyridoxine HCl), compounds which facilitate kidney drug elimination (e.g., glycine), metabolites at risk of depletion (e.g., pantothenic acid), sulfhydryl containing chemicals (e.g., methionine), compounds which facilitate glutathione activity (e.g., N-acetylcysteine), and non-absorbable polyamine co-agents (e.g., chitosan).

The invention provides a supramolecular intercalated structure light stabilizer and a preparation method thereof. An ultraviolet absorber and a radical scavenger are innovatively commonly assembled into LDHs interlayer, the ultraviolet absorption property of the ultraviolet absorber is used to block the photodegradation of plastics by ultraviolet rays, and the radical scavenger is sued to captureactive radicals generated by the photodegradation in order to reduce the photooxidation of the plastics. The ultraviolet absorber at the LDHs interlayer and the radical scavenger have synergistic anti-light and anti-ageing effects, and the anti-light and anti-ageing performances of ultraviolet absorber and radical scavenger co-intercalated LDHs are obviously better than those of ultraviolet absorber single-intercalated LDHs, so the disadvantage of poor anti-light and anti-ageing effects of the existing ultraviolet absorber single-intercalated LDHs is overcome. The preparation method has the advantages of simplicity, abundant sources of raw materials, and convenience in industrial production. The prepared supramolecular intercalated structure light stabilizer has the advantages of high heatresistance, good migration resistance, excellent light protection performance and the like, and can be widely applied to the fields of plastics and coatings.

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a photosensitive resin composition which has a good balance between elastic modulus recovery and adhesion and is capable of forming a fine spacer. The photosensitive resin composition of the present invention is an alkali-developable photosensitive resin composition which is characterized by containing, as essential ingredients, (A) a hydrophilic resin, (B) a multifunctional (meth)acrylate, (C) a radical trapping agent, (D) a photopolymerization initiator and (E) a metal element-containing compound. The alkali-developable photosensitive resin composition is also characterized in that the energy difference between the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital of the component (C) and the highest occupied molecular orbital of the component (D) is 11.5 eV or less.
