According to the recovery method disclosed by the invention, the pollution of the acid mist of the citric acid to atmospheric environment can be removed or reduced; meanwhile, 90 percent or over 90 percent of lapsed citric acid of semi-finished product in the acid mist can be recovered and reused, and the product yield is improved by about 1 percent.

The method can be used for achieving effective appreciating and efficient utilization of the lotus seed shells, namely by-products from processing of lotus seeds, and avoiding waste of resources and environment pollution caused by abandoning or incineration of the lotus seed shells (accounting for 35% of nelumbo nucifera gaertn in mass) in the prior art. The method is simple to implement and low in production cost, and the prepared product is high in purity and yield.
