The invention discloses a tough column-type porcelain insulator for a high-voltage line. The insulator comprises an insulator body, an upper steel cap and a lower steel cap. The insulator body is provided with a bone column body, and an upper core head and a lower core head which are integrally connected with the two ends of the bone column body. Large umbrella skirts and small umbrella skirts arearranged on the bone column body at intervals. An annular groove and a plug-in slot are formed in the upper core head. Annular bosses are arranged on the surface of the inner side of the upper steelcap at intervals. A plug connector is arranged between the upper steel cap and the upper core head. Annular clamping slots are formed in the lower core head at intervals in the axial direction of thelower core head. Annular trenches are formed in the surface of the inner side of the lower steel cap at intervals. A clamping piece is arranged between the lower steel cap and the lower core head.
