The present invention pertains to an oil-in-water type pest repellent composition containing the following components (A)-(E): (A) 13-50 mass% inclusive of one or more non-volatile liquid oily components selected from the group consisting of silicone oils, ester oils, ether oils, hydrocarbon oils, aliphatic alcohols, and polyols; (B) 0.5-35 mass% inclusive of hydrophilic inorganic particles containing silica particles and / or silicate mineral particles and having a volume median diameter of 1-40 [mu] m inclusive; (C) 0.1% by mass or more and 3% by mass or less of one or more substances selected from the group consisting of polyether-modified silicones, polyglycerol-modified silicones, branched polyglycerol-modified silicones, alkyl glyceryl ether-modified silicones, and carboxyl-modified silicones, which are liquid at 25 DEG C; (D) 0.05% by mass or more and 3% by mass or less of a tackifier; and (E) 30 to 86.35 mass% inclusive of water, the viscosity of the component (A) at 23 DEG C as determined by a B-type rotational viscometer being 1 to 400 mPa.s inclusive, and the silicone oil of the component (A) does not contain the component (C).
