The method has the following advantages that the natural loess is used as the raw material and is modified by acrylic acid and hydroxyethyl methacrylate to obtain the loess-based polymer composite adsorbent; and the loess-based polymer composite adsorbent is applied to treatment of wastewater containing heavy metal ions and dyes and has the characteristics of strong absorbability and large adsorption capacity.
