On the aspect of seed germination, low concentration lanthanum nitrate is equivalent with high concentration cerium nitrate in effect, and the effect is best when 0.2gXkg-1of lanthanum nitrate is used. Germination percentage, germination index and vitality index of Festuca arundinacea are respectively increased by 27.9%, 32.7% and 34.5% compared with those in control. The method provides theoretical basis for further application of rear earth to improving stress resistance of lawn plants on compost substrate.
