Use of gluconate compounds for the preparation of a medicament for the prevention and treatment of ovarian cancer

This invention discloses the application of gluconate compounds in the preparation of drugs for the prevention and treatment of ovarian cancer. The gluconate compounds include at least one of sodium gluconate, potassium gluconate, calcium gluconate, and zinc gluconate. The invention also discloses the application of gluconate compounds in the preparation of inhibitors of the interaction between TMEM87A protein and CHP1 protein. This invention is the first to discover and demonstrate that gluconate compounds possess significant anti-ovarian cancer activity, effectively inhibiting the proliferation and metastasis of ovarian cancer cells. It also reveals for the first time a novel anti-cancer mechanism by which sodium gluconate directly binds to TMEM87A protein and disrupts the functional complex formed between TMEM87A and CHP1 protein. This invention overcomes the technical prejudice commonly held by those skilled in the art that gluconates are merely nutritional supplements or chelating agents, providing a novel, safe, and widely available class of candidate drugs for the treatment of ovarian cancer.
