The invention discloses a brown rice planthopper insect repellent as well as a preparation method and application thereof. The brown rice planthopper insect repellent comprises the following components by weight: 1-80mg of pepper extract, 1-80mg of water hyacinth extract and 0.01-0.10mg of farnesene which are dissolved in each ml of methanol solvent.
