The present invention is also related to silicone hydrogel contact lenses made from this class of silicone-containing prepolymers and to methods for making the silicone hydrogel contact lenses.

According to the hydrophilic block polyether aminosilicone prepared with the method, the handfeel of a treated fabric can reach the handfeel of ordinary aminosilicone, and the treated fabric can keep a hydrophilic function permanently, is prevented from yellowing, and has high antistatic property.

Disclosed herein is a process for preparing a linear hydroxyaryloxy-functional polydiorganosiloxanes having controlled structures. The process includes the step of reacting a linear α,ω-bisacyloxypolydiorganosiloxane with at least one bisphenolic compound, or hydroxy-functional oligomer thereof, in such a molar ratio that the phenolic groups in the bisphenolic compound or the hydroxy-functional oligomer thereof to the acyloxy groups in the α,ω-bisacyloxypolydiorganosiloxane is less than 2.0. Also disclosed are hydroxyaryloxy-functional polydiorganosiloxanes produced from the process and the polysiloxane / polyorgano block copolymers made using the hydroxyaryloxy-functional siloxanes.

The barrier coating or layer prevents oxygen from penetrating into the thermoplastic syringe or vial, and the tie coating or layer and pH protective coating or layer together protect the barrier layer from the contents of the syringe or vial.

In one embodiment, a molded sample of the thermoplastic composition having a thickness of 3.0 mm (±10%) has an EMI shielding of at least 20 dB. In addition, a molded sample of the thermoplastic composition is capable of achieving UL94 V0 or V1 rating at a thickness of 1.5 mm (±10%). The compositions are useful in forming flame retardant articles having EMI shielding characteristics.

White light-shielding compositions and articles comprising same

A polymer composition is provided which is white and opaque (i.e. shields from light). The polymer composition comprises a blend of (i) a silicon-free polycarbonate polymer and (ii) a polycarbonate-polysiloxane copolymer; a whitener such as titanium dioxide; and (iii) a non-white colorant such as carbon black. The silicon containing portion of the chemical forms polysiloxane, which is bonded to surface silanol groups via Si—O—Si bonds. The monolayer of the chemical is the selective self-assembling oxygen barrier layer that prevents diffusion of oxygen to a high dielectric constant material layer that is subsequently deposited as a gate dielectric.
