A xenon lamp is used as a light source, low-wavelength light (lambda (420 nm) is filtered out through a filter, and the photocatalytic performance of the Gd/BiOBr photocatalytic material is tested. The photocatalytic performance of the composite material is characterized by reducing carbon dioxide to methanol and calculating its conversion rate. The material is a compound of a rare earth element and a bismuth oxyhalide semiconductor, a special electronic structure and good absorption performance on visible light are the basis of the photocatalyst, and the catalyst has the advantages of no toxicity, easiness in synthesis, good stability and the like so that the material has a wide application prospectin the aspects of water pollution treatment and removal of carbon dioxide in air.
