Ethyl salicylate is the ester formed by the condensation of salicylic acid and ethanol. It is a clear liquid that is sparingly soluble in water, but soluble in alcohol and ether. It has a pleasant odor resembling wintergreen and is used in perfumery and artificial flavors.

A flavour composition comprises at least 0.5% by weight of one or more of the following group A materials: cinnamic aldehyde, basil oil, tarragon, cis-3-hexenyl acetate, cis-3hexenol, orange oil, lime, citral, and damascone; and at least 3% by weight of one or more of the following group B materials: anethole synthetic, alcohol C10, eucalyptol, methyl salicylate, clove bud oil, carvone laevo, benzyl benzoate, thymol, benzaldehyde, benzyl formate, ethyl salicylate, eucalyptus oil, ionone alpha, iso amyl acetate, rosemary oil, cardamom oil, ginger, eugenol, camomile oil, spearmint, and peppermint. These materials have been identified as being capable of inhibiting the growth of Porphyromonas gingivalis or the protease (arg-gingipain) activity of Porphyromonas gingivalis, and so to possess hitherto unappreciated antimicrobial properties. The invention thus enables compositions to be defined comprising flavour materials that enhance the antimicrobial efficacy of known antimicrobial agents against micro-organisms or metabolic processes associated with gum diseases. The invention also provides a consumer product, particularly an oral or dental care product, including such a flavour composition; a method for reducing or preventing gum disease; and use of the flavour compositions for reducing or preventing gum disease.

Benzoyl hydrazine derivative P and synthesis and application thereof

The invention relates to detection of a fluorescence method on metal ions, and particularly relates to a benzoyl hydrazine derivative P which identifies and detects two different metal ions Mg<2+> andAl<3+> separately in different pH conditions. The structural formula of the benzoyl hydrazine derivative P is as shown in a formula (1). The preparation method of the benzoyl hydrazine derivative P comprises the following steps: firstly, carrying out hydrazinolysis on ethyl salicylate; carrying out a reaction with o-hydroxy naphthaldehyde at a molar ratio of 1 to 1 for 4 hours at 80 DEG C in anhydrous ethanol; cooling the mixture and separating out a solid and carrying out suction filtration; washing the mixture with a lot of water and anhydrous ethanol successively; and drying the solid to obtain a light yellow solid pure product P. The benzoyl hydrazine derivative P can be used for detecting Mg<2+> and Al<3+> separately in different pH conditions as a fluorescent probe. The benzoyl hydrazine derivative P is obtained by means of an effective synthetic means and shows relatively good selectivity on the metal ions Mg<2+> and Al<3+> separately. On a basis of an optimized experimental condition, the metal ions Mg<2+> and Al<3+> can be detected separately. The formula is as show in the description.

The invention discloses a fiber penetrating swelling agent which comprises the compositions in weight portion: 0.00016 to 0.0006 portion of laurocapram, 1 to 5 portions of N-methyl pyrrolidone, 5 to 10 portions of diacetone alcohol, 5 to 15 portions of ethyl salicylate, and 5 to 10 portions of isopropyl salicylate. The invention also discloses a method for dyeing by the fiber penetrating swelling agent, comprising the following steps that: a reducing agent and sodium hydrate are used for reducing the dye by a vatting method; the weight ratio of a reducing solution to the dye is 37.5: 0.8 to 2.0; a leveling agent and the fiber penetrating swelling agent are added to dye or a buffering agent is added to adjust the pH value and is dyed by vat acid, the temperature is reduced and the mixture is washed; the mixture is subjected to oxidizing to develop color, fixing, reducing temperature and washing; the fresh water bath is performed, the fiber penetrating swelling agent is reduced and washed, and the temperature is reduced and the fiber penetrating swelling agent is produced. The fiber penetrating swelling agent ensures that the dye insoluble in water is effectively moistened and penetrated, and the fiber crystallizing area is effectively swelled to receive the dye; the fiber penetrating swelling agent ensures that a suspended solid is dyed evenly, has good homochromatism, improves the degree of dyeing, and solves the 'white core' problem of fiber.
