The external temperature and the pressureof the high birefringence plated film photonic crystal fiber are judged through surface plasmon resonance wave spectrums detected by the spectrometer. In a condition of a certain pressure, when the external temperature of the sensor increases, the resonance wavelength is reduced; when the external temperature drops, the resonance wavelength is increased. In a condition of a certain temperature, when externally applied pressure of the sensor increases, the resonance wavelength is increased; when the externally applied pressure is reduced, the resonance wavelength is reduced. A light source is replaced by the light source the wavelength of which is close to a surface plasmon resonance wavelength, and a loss spectrum analysis method is utilized to determine a position where surface plasmon resonance occurs.
