The clay is modified by utilizing a chitosan solution with the concentration of 0.2mg / mL to 2g / mL and the modified clay and a traditional coagulant are compounded according to the mass ratio ranging from (1 to 2) to (2 to 1); a cationic surfactant is added to increase the bubble stability of air dissolved water and enhance the hydrophobic property of alga; medicament components are mutually compounded to generate a synergistic effect. A compound coagulant provided by the invention has a rapid coagulation speed, a strong adsorption and bridging capability and low cost and does not contain components harmful to human bodies. The modified clay prepared at an earlier stage and the coagulant are compounded and then are added; a surfactant is added in a stirring process; most of the alga in water are removed through a dissolved air floatation device. After medicines are added into raw water, solid-liquid separation is carried out through a dissolved air floatation method, the content of chlorophyll a (Chl-a) can be reduced to 5mu g / L and the removal rate reaches 95 percent or more.
