[Problem] To provide a polymerizable
silicone monomer capable of providing a
polymer having excellent transparency, surface hydrophilicity, durability, and
stain resistance, a method for producing the same, a curable composition containing the
monomer, a
polymer obtained by polymerizing the composition, and an ophthalmic instrument formed using the
polymer. [Solution] A polymerizable
silicone monomer represented by formula (1) (in the formula, R1 independently represents a monovalent
hydrocarbon group having 1-4 carbon atoms, R2 independently represents an
alkyl group having 1-10 carbon atoms or an
aryl group having 6-10 carbon atoms, R3 represents a
hydrogen atom or a
methyl group, A1 represents a
single bond or a
divalent hydrocarbon group having 1-20 carbon atoms, R2 represents an
alkyl group having 1-10 carbon atoms or an
aryl group having 6-10 carbon atoms, and R3 represents a
hydrogen atom or a
methyl group; q is a
divalent group selected from the group consisting of-A2-O-A3-and-O-A4-O-, A2 and A3 are each independently a
single bond or a
divalent hydrocarbon group having 1-3 carbon atoms and optionally having a branched chain, at least one of
hydrogen atoms bonded to the carbon atoms of the divalent hydrocarbon group may be substituted by an
alkoxy group having 1-4 carbon atoms, A2 and A3 are not a
single bond at the same time, and A3 and A3 are each independently a single bond or a divalent hydrocarbon group having 1-3 carbon atoms and optionally substituted by an
alkoxy group having 1-4 carbon atoms. A4 is a divalent hydrocarbon group having 1-3 carbon atoms and optionally having a branched chain, at least one of hydrogen atoms bonded to the carbon atoms of the divalent hydrocarbon group may be substituted by an
alkoxy group having 1-4 carbon atoms, and n is an integer of 1-3.
