The invention discloses an electrotinning additive. The electrotinning additive consists of the following raw materials in parts by weight of 0.2-5kg of naphthol ethoxy propoxy addition compounds, 0.2-2.8kg of ethyl
alcohol ethylene oxide addition compounds, 0.1-3.2kg of naphthol ethoxy
sulfonic acid, 1-6.5kg of
polyethylene glycol 1000-10000, 0.02-0.5kg of
resorcinol and 0.02-0.5kg of hydroxyl propanesulfonic acid polymers. The preparation method of the electrotinning additive comprises the specific steps of 1.1, adding about 350L of pure water, and switching on equipment for stirring; 1.2, adding a specified amount of the
polyethylene glycol 1000-10000, and performing stirring until the
polyethylene glycol 1000-10000 completely dissolves; 1.3 adding a specified quantity of the naphthol ethoxy propoxy addition compounds, and performing uniform stirring; 1.4 adding a specified quantity of the ethyl
alcohol ethylene oxide addition compounds, and performing uniform stirring; 1.5 adding aspecified amount of the naphthol ethoxy
sulfonic acid, and performing uniform stirring; 1.6 adding a specified amount of the
resorcinol, and performing uniform stirring; and 1.7 adding a specified quantity of the hydroxyl propanesulfonic acid polymers, and performing uniform stirring. The electrotinning additive disclosed by the invention is good in
oxidation resistance effects, the generation oftetravalent
tin can be impeded, the life of tank liquor is prolonged, and the electrotinning additive is suitable for VCP production.
