The ratio by mass of the pure aluminium powder to the amorphous or nano-crystal alloy thin tape is 100:Y (Y=0.1-20), and the particle size of the pure aluminium powder is in a range from 0.01um to 10um. The preparation method of the aluminium-based compound capable of having hydrolysis reaction to produce hydrogen comprises the following steps of: mixing the materials, and conducting high-energy ball milling to obtain the aluminium-based compound. The aluminium-based compound can quickly and continuously produce hydrogen at normal temperature after being put in pure water, and the hydrogen yield rate is from 70% to 98%.
