The invention relates to a compost preparation method for performing four-stage fermentation by adopting an enzyme-bacterium composite leavening agent. The compost preparation method comprises the following steps: pretreatment of agricultural and forestry wastes: crushing high-lignin waste, putting the crushed waste into a drum mixer, mixing and coordinately matching the crushed waste with the excrements of human beings, livestock and poultry, adding the enzyme-bacterium composite leavening agent in a mixing process, and adjusting the water content, the carbon-nitrogen ratio and the volume weight of the agricultural and forestry waste stock to obtain a fermentation raw material; stacking of the fermentation raw material; and fermentation of the raw material, wherein a fermentation period is 25-35 days, the fermentation is divided into four stages, namely a heating high-oxygen stage, a high-temperature low-oxygen stage, a cooling oxygen-deficient stage and a normal-temperature standing stage, and the fermentation is completed after the four stages. The technical problems that in a compost preparation process, foul smell is generated by fermentation of the excrements of human beings, livestock and poultry, high lignin waste is difficult to degrade, an emission amount of carbon and nitrogen gas is high, and compost quality is low are solved; and finally, agricultural and forestry waste is efficiently returned to the field for utilization, a soil carbon pool is increased, and carbon neutralization is achieved.
