A novel horizontal-type high-
voltage insulator protection device belongs to the field of high-
voltage circuit protection and is used for solving the problem of arc generation by a high-
voltage line insulator and large
power transmission loss due to rainwater. The protection device comprises an upper half
protection mechanism, a conical protection cover, and multiple groups of rain shading assemblies, wherein the upper half
protection mechanism is used for protecting an upper half part, the front end and the rear end of an insulator, the conical protection cover is arranged at the root of the rear end of the insulator, a wire of the insulator is arranged in the conical protection cover, and the multiple groups of rain shading assemblies are arranged at the
lower half part of the insulator and are used for protecting the
lower half part of the insulator. By the protection device, the insulator can be effectively prevented from being in contact with rainwater, two poles of the insulator are protected from being moistened by rain, a blue arc
discharge phenomenon at the root of the high-voltage line insulator is avoided, a high-voltage line insulator is prevented from being broken down, and a device fault is prevented. The protection device has the advantages of simplicity in structure, time and labor saving and long service lifetime, and is simple and convenient to install, the insulation capability of an important suspension point of a high-voltage line is stronger, thus, the fault frequency of high-level voltage running circuit is effectively reduced, and the
operation time under high strength is reduced.
