The invention relates to an automatic error correction electrocardiogram system and method. The automatic error correction electrocardiogram system comprises electrode lead assemblies, a position information acquiring device, position information processing module and a signal processing module, wherein each electrode lead assembly comprises an electrode and a lead wire and is further provided with identifications of positions; the position information acquiring device is used for acquiring the position information of the identifications of the positions; the position information processing module comprises a feature receiving unit, a feature recognizing unit, a reference system unit, an information comparing and correcting unit and a result outputting unit, and is used for receiving the position information and further processing the position information; and the signal processing module is used for receiving the position information corrected by the position information processing module, adjusting the sequence, converting acquired electrocardio signals into digital signals, and finally outputting the digital signals to a display module. In the method, the automatic error correction electrocardiogram system is used for acquiring an electrocardiogram. The various electrode lead assemblies are positioned, waveform sequences are corrected automatically, therefore, misdiagnosis caused by mistaken placement positions of the electrode lead assemblies is avoided, and meanwhile, the workload of doctors is relieved.
